anna a. castro

Picture
In loving memory of our mother, Anna A. Castro, 64 years old, of Navarre, Florida unexpectedly and peacefully passed away on January 21, 2023, went to be with our Lord and Savior.

She was born in Bronx, New York and was a single mother of two. During her young years she worked as a Medical Assistant in New York until moving to Florida with her children in 1984. In Florida she was a  housekeeper for various facilities and hotels. Her hobbies included watching her novelas (soap operas), diamond painting, cross stitching and taking care of her animals, who she truly adored.

Anna was always there for others when they needed help, counseling, helping with activities or just a shoulder to cry on. She was a strong woman. She instilled in her children the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. She would always tell us to never give up on our dreams and keep fighting to move forward in life. Although she has departed this life here on Earth, she would still want her loved ones to continue moving forward
until they meet again.

Anna is survived by her children, Janet and Luis; Long-term partner, Rene;  grandchildren, Evan, Britnie and Alex; and great grandchildren, Hayden, Gabriel and Malakai. She is also survived by sisters, Adela, Milagros, Olga and Elizabeth and brother, Elisberto. She is preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Betancourt and father, Agapito Rivera.

Note from her children:
Janet - Mom it was a blessing for me not only as your daughter, but as a nurse to be there for you and take care of you until your last breath. I know now you can join the Angels in heaven in peace. Although I may not hear your voice driving home from work, I know you will still hear mine.  Thank you for telling me you are proud of me.  I will forever cherish those last few weeks I got to spend with you in the hospital and know that you will forever be missed in mine and Britnie’s hearts. We will never forget you and we love you so much. Rest in peace now for there is no more suffering and I will see you again one day.
Luis – Mom, I love you, thank you for always being there for me when I needed you. Please continue to watch over me and my children. May you rest in peace. I love you.

Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Monday, January 30th, 2023, with visitation from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 North Davis Highway, Pensacola, Florida. There will be a procession to Barrancas National Cemetery at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola for our final prayer and
resting place.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charities below in her memory.
