Noma Tindol Lockhart, age 94, of Destin, Florida, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

She was born in Clio, Alabama to Oscar and Carrie Shehane (deceased).  She was, also, preceded in death by her two brothers, Reid Shehane and Eugene Shehane; and three sisters, Shelley Loftin, Erma Dean Thompson, and Cathryn Davis.

Noma married Guy Tindol (deceased) of New Brockton, Alabama.  They met and a dance.  Noma was only a teenager, but fell in love with the dashing, young guy.  They were married for almost twenty-five years before the sudden death of Guy.  Noma is survived by their daughter, Glenda Tindol Jasen and her husband, Raymond; five grandchildren, Keri (Noah) Guilbault, Richard (Nicole) Jasen, Kelly Jasen, Philip Jasen, and Kelcey Jasen, along with four great grandchildren, Alex Mathoniere, Emily Jasen, Lukas Jasen, and Charlotte Jase.

Noma retired as a telephone operator after over forty years of service with Southeastern/Centel Telephone Company, first working in DeFuniak Springs, FL, then she worked about forty years in Crestview, FL, and the final years at the company's location in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

After moving to Fort Walton Beach from Crestview, FL, to be closer to her work, Noma met and married Maj. Tyrus (Ty) Thompson Lockhart, USAF, Ret.  They enjoyed dancing, traveling, and meeting people at their beach condominium complex in Destin, FL.  Noma is also survived by Ty's daughters, Linda (Dale) Bridges and Leann (Dallas) Lawrence and their families.

Noma loved to dance, jitterbug was a favorite, and she enjoyed her friends at her beach condo, in particular her Snowbird friends who came every year and engaged in many fun activities.

Family-Funeral & Cremation of Fort Walton Beach, FL will be in charge of local arrangements and a private burial will take place at a later date at the Old Tabernacle Cemetery in New Brockton, Alabama.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Noma's memory to the United Way Emerald Coast, 112 Tupelo Ave., Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 or at their online site at united-way.org.
