William Cardwell McBride, of Pensacola, passed away on Thursday, February 15, at the age of 75. He was called “Bill” by his friends, and everyone who knew him soon became a friend. Bill was a big-hearted man, generous in deed and spirit, who loved to laugh and enjoy a good time and a dry martini. Throughout his life he faced adversity with courage and a smile, repeating his mantra that you must never slow down or stop, but always move forward, “like a shark.”
Bill was born in Newnan, Georgia in 1942 to Henry and Mary McBride. He graduated from University of California at Santa Barbara, where he lived with his beloved brothers of the Sig Ep fraternity. After graduation, he enrolled in Officer Candidate School, and served in the Navy as an officer on a supply ship in Vietnam. In 1968, he met the love of his life, Kathleen Tennant, in San Francisco. They had three children and celebrated 50 years of marital bliss shortly before his passing.
After a long career in the trade show industry which moved the family around the country Bill and Kathleen moved to Pensacola in 1995. There Bill embarked upon his second career, obtaining his contractor’s license and founding Bill McBride Construction. Active members of their community, Bill and Kathleen loved their life as “North Hillbillies.” Bill was a Pensacola Wahoos season ticket holder, a Friend of Pensacola Opera, a dog lover and a rabid fan of the San Francisco Giants. He loved to golf and travel, especially to play famous golf courses around the world with his friends from Golf Club Atlas.
Bill is survived by his three children, David McBride and his wife Heather and their sons, Jacob and Owen, Amy McBride and her husband Daniel Tabachnick and their daughter Cecilia and Jane McBride. He is also survived by his younger brother, Robert “Bink” McBride and his wife Pam and their children, Michael and Jenny.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Sunday, March 25 at the Pensacola Yacht Club from 1:00—3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.

Robert Alexander, Jr., 76, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
He was born February 21, 1941 in Trenton, NJ. Retiring from General Motors in 1990, he moved to Wyoming in 1991 where he was employed with School District 25 in Riverton, WY until 2007 before settling in Pensacola, FL.
He enjoyed watching wrestling and was a faithful Phillies and Eagles fan. He also enjoyed bowling, cooking, fishing, the thrill of a roller coaster ride and a good night at the casino. He loved his puppies Warren and Diane.
Son of the late Robert and Dorothy Taylor Alexander, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Fletcher and brothers Timothy Alexander and Forrest Wood.
Robert is survived by his wife, Toni Alexander; children, Debor Alexander, Robert W Alexander, III, Debbie Olman, Karen Velazquez, Laura Olman, Joe Wolff and the late Larry Wolff; brother, Dennis Alexander and sisters Virginia Newbon and Marie Zarrilli and 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and special friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Family-Funeral and Cremation, 7253 Plantation Road, Pensacola, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

John Robert Philpot, 46, of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida passed away Sunday February 11, 2018 at Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center.
John was born September 11, 1971 in Lexington, KY and was the son of the late Hobert L. Philpot and Shirley Guthrie Philpot. He was a life-long resident of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and graduated from Ft Walton Beach High School in 1989.
John is survived by his wife, Monica H. Philpot; daughter, Asher Philpot; son, Alden Philpot; Brother, Len Philpot and his daughters Linny P. Blair (Tony), Erika P. Borrego (Les) and Tiffany Philpot; sisters Vera Philpot (Steve) Daugherty and their daughter Meredith Daugherty, Nancy Philpot (Kent) Baker and their daughters Dena Acha, Haley Baker, Katie Baker and Julie Baker, Emily Philpot Ingram and her sons Michael Ingram and Jonathan Ingram, and Kitty Philpot (Jerry) Cinnamon.
He is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that all loved him very much.
Funeral services will be held Monday February 19, 2018 at Crossroads Church of God, 2016 Palm Drive, Niceville, Florida. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the service will begin at 3:00pm.
Jean Jensen Bailey, 89, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018.
Gerald Franklin Perritt, 80, of Pace, Florida, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018.Gerald was born on February 23, 1937, in Pace, Florida. Gerald lived a long, full life.
He enjoyed "pickin and grinnin" with friends and family, cooking, fishing, socializing and he loved the Lord.
He served his country in the Air Force, was a police officer for the City of Pensacola, deputy with Escambia and Santa Rosa counties and various other gigs until ultimately "The Tree Ape".
One of ten children, Gerald leaves behind three brothers; Paul (Carol), Joe (Brenda) and Larry (Jan); two daughters, Nina Chestnut and Melissa Perritt; a son, Frankie Perritt; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, numerous friends and extended family.
Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation will be held at Family-Funeral & Cremation from 1:00 -3:00 pm on Thursday, February 15, 2018.

Christine (Tina) Berry Newton, 82, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 with both of her daughters at her bedside at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Tina was the daughter of the late Elaine Crafton and James Berry.
Tina was preceded in death by the love of her life, Conrad Newton; son, Tommy John Allen and two sisters Doris McCormick and Phylis Rummel.
Tina left behind four children who loved her dearly; Debra (Thomas) Roberts of Fort Walton Beach, FL, George Newton (Donna Smith) of Pensacola, FL, Rhonda (Cliff) Martin of Cool Ridge, WV and Jack (Alex) Newton of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, John Allen, Tina Pope, TJ Roberts, Mike Newton, Kristie Newton Lewis, Kristi Claus, Kimberly Claus, Ray Claus, Leigha Wiseman, Ashley Martin and Cliff Martin, Nicole Newton and Blake Newton and their spouses, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She will truly be missed every day.
There will be a Memorial Service at a later date in Beckley, WV.
John "Jerry" Chopp, 79, of Pensacola passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 after a 10-year battle with Parkinson's disease.
Jerry was born in Gratztown, Pennsylvania on June 20, 1938. He met his loving wife, Joyce in high school prior to beginning a 46-year career as an industrial engineer for Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh which moved him to Pensacola in 1987.
He was incredibly devoted to his family, especially his three grandsons, whom he helped with scouts, coaching soccer and always attending their events.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Rhonda (Jordan "Chuck") Iserman; son, Randy (Sheila) Chopp; three grandsons, Justin Iserman, Jared Iserman and Jordan Iserman; two sisters, Patsy Robinson and Vivian (John) Lesko and two brothers, Larry (Sandee) Chopp and Ted (Sheryl) Chopp.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 19th at 4:00pm at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Ronald Wing, 88, of Pensacola, Florida passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018.
Mr. John Roland Wingo of Cantonment, FL passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the age of 82.
John Roland Wingo was born to parents Clarence and Lucile Wingo on April 16, 1935 in Flat Top, Alabama. He grew up the eighth of ten children and attended Baker High School in Mobile, Alabama. He married Mildred Collins in 1953 and had three children; Dwight, Deborah and Sandra .They divorced in 1972. He joined the U.S. Marines in January, 1954 and served in Korea. Upon leaving the Marines, he was employed by Greyhound as a ticket agent and later became a driver for Greyhound. Mr. Wingo moved to Pensacola, FL in 1972 and married Janice Faye Rowell in 1973. The couple lived in the Pensacola area for 45 years. He was a mason and active member of the Milton, FL Ham Radio club and Five Flags Amateur Radio club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lucile; sisters, Gladys and Irene and brothers Oliver, James, Ross, Martin, Ornell and Oscar Wingo.
Mr. Wingo is survived by his wife, Janice Faye Wingo; his son, R. Dwight (Elizabeth) Wingo; his daughters, Deborah Wingo Cross, Donna Wingo (William) Hunter and Sandra Wingo Lofton and brother Roy Daniel (Sylvia) Wingo. Mr. Wingo has five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Extended family and dear to Mr. Wingo are the families of Jack Rowell, Jeannine Hallford and April Norsworthy.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. Wingo at his home located at 2860 Hwy 297-A in Cantonment, Florida at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 24, 2018. All who knew John are invited to celebrate his life.
Brandt Lee Smith, 38, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was born in Slidell, LA and was a graduate of Gulf Breeze High School. He was a former First Class Boatswain’s Mate at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy. He studied Environmental Engineering at Pensacola State College. He was a sales representative at ABC Supply, Inc. in Pensacola, Florida.
Brandt absolutely loved the outdoors. He was known for his mastery and love for fishing, boating and hunting. One of his favorite places he had visited was Alaska. He truly loved wildlife and had a true love for animals.
Brandt was a loving father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend. He was kind and caring to others. His words of wisdom had the ability to bring a smile to peoples’ faces. He had a hidden and pure talent for drawing and his drawings grace the walls of our home.
Brandt is survived by his loving daughter, Madison Smith; parents, Terry and Kim Smith; brother, Bradford “Brad”, his wife Stacey and their son Kolten Smith; sister, Brittney Smith of Gulf Breeze, FL; grandmother, Peggy Smith of Saraland, AL and many nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle and other relatives and friends.
