Lamar was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 29, 1970. He loved Jehovah and the congregation. He pioneered for many years until his health limited his activity, but he always maintained the pioneer spirit. Despite his limitations, he never lost his zeal and determination to do God’s will. He remained faithful to Jehovah to the very end.
Lamar loved all of Jehovah’s beautiful creation. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, viewing the sunset, taking care of his garden, and fishing. He took care of household repairs when he could and when physical limitations prevented that, he was able to impart his vast knowledge to others who could then carry out those tasks. He never stopped taking care of the needs of his family even when he was unable to physically do it himself.
Lamar was known for his loving and caring hospitality, often opening his home to those in need. He was a loyal husband, always putting his wife’s needs before his own and he loved his children dearly. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking them on walks with his wheelchair through the neighborhood.
Lamar will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
