Barbara Jean Abbey Obituary

Barbara Jean Abbey of Pace, Florida was born in Andalusia, Alabama on February 5, 1945. She really loved her family and friends, loved to work in the yard, the beach, and the night life, she liked to boogie. Dancing was always her thing, she loved to dance all night long. She could be a little rough around the edges, you never knew what she would say, that was just part of her sassy charm and everyone always expected it. She was someone who you could go to when you ran into trouble or just needed help and she would do her best to find a solution. She was a problem solver and caretaker for many. To say that she will be missed would be an understatement.

Barbara attended Ferry Pass Elementary and Middle School and Graduated from Technical High School in Pensacola. Most of her work life was spent by the side of each of her three husbands in their businesses making sure those checkbooks balanced to the penny. Her last husband, Thomas Dan Abbey, was her knight in shining armor. She spent her senior years by his side. Maybe they are dancing together right now.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Edward R. and Annie B Davis. Her siblings William Davis, Sarah Sullivan, Robert Davis and Paul Davis. Her memories will carry on through her children Sheila (Charles) Haney, Penny (Mark) Lang, Cindie (Mark) Sacco, Danielle Williams, Todd (Kimille) Abbey, James Cohron Jr. Donald Cohron, Her grandchildren Reid (Spencer) Haney, David (Jessica) Williams, Adams Williams,  Mikaela, Zoe, Ella and Keely Abbey and Great grandchildren Michael Haney, Dominic Williams and Madison Williams and Great Great Grandson Charlie Williams and many cousins and nephews and nieces.

A special thanks to Vitas and all of the Nurses that helped us along the way and an extra special thanks to our regular Vitas Nurse Shannon for the heartfelt care that she gave.
