Carol Dorothy Liptack Davis, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, in Pensacola, Florida.
Born on July 11, 1944, she was the third daughter to Clarence and Hazel Liptack, in Pound, Wisconsin. Carol grew up in a small farmhouse without running water or plumbing. She later lived with her grandparents nearby and attended school in Crivitz, Wisconsin. Carol left the cold north and migrated to Pensacola where she met her husband, Ray. They married in 1966 not long after he was drafted into the Army. She lived in many places; she returned to Crivitz and later moved to Georgia; and then lived in Germany twice, followed by Chicago and then finally settling back in Pensacola.
Throughout her life, she embraced hard work and dedication, holding various jobs with a focus in food service and waitressing. Her steady presence and quiet strength were hallmarks of her character—qualities that left a lasting impression on those around her.
Carol professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. Her faith remained an important part of her life and provided comfort during her later years.
She shared 59 devoted years of marriage with her husband Raymond. Together they built a family rooted in love and resilience. Carol is lovingly remembered by her children, Sandra Morphew and Raymond Jr. (Michelle); grandchildren Jason Morphew, Justin Morphew, and Luke Davis; and great-grandchildren Bryson Morphew and Dalton Morphew. She also leaves behind her sister Lois (Sam) Bero of Green Bay, Wisconsin; nieces Susie (Bill) Koehler of Niagra, Wisconsin; Sharon (Paul) They of Green Bay; Lori Krause of Green Bay; and nephew Steve (Carrie) Bero of Green Bay.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Leatrice Krause, and niece Debbie Krause.
She found joy in traveling—exploring new places brought her happiness and wonder. Whether near or far from home, she delighted in seeing different things and experiencing the world around her. At home, she was known for cooking by trial and error—a method that somehow almost always had a positive result; we rarely had a bad meal. Her chicken soup, chili and onion rings, & macaroni and potato salad were special treats.
In recent years, Carol faced the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease with grace. We have really missed her for the past few years.
Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road Pensacola, FL 32508. Meet at Olive Baptist Church - Warrington Campus, 103 West Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32507 at 10:30AM for procession to Barrancas National Cemetery.
