Deborah Gail Harper Obituary

Deborah Gail Harper, 75, of Evansville , Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 3rd , 2026, in Pensacola Florida surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Debbie Harper was born on August 8, 1950, in Elkton, Kentucky, to Fred and Dorothy Layne. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to caring for both her family and those around her. For 35 years, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), compassionately serving others and making an impact on everyone she worked with and helped. Debbie found her greatest joy in spending time with her son, David Buhmeier, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment with her family, whether it was taking them swimming, trying new restaurants, baking together, sharing the values she believed in, or simply enjoying each other’s company. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she especially loved the Grinch. She made every holiday season special, decorating, creating traditions, and memories that her family will carry with them forever. Debbie had an ability to see the good in everyone, no matter the circumstances. Her faith in God guided the way she lived, and her kindness, grace, and unconditional love throughout her life. Although she spent most of her life in Evansville, Indiana, she always dreamed of living in Florida. In her final days, she fulfilled that lifelong dream by moving to Florida, where she found peace and happiness by the beach. Debbie will be remembered for her compassionate heart, unwavering faith, selfless spirit, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

Deborah Harper was proceeded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorthey Lanye, her brother, Steve Layne, her sister, Emily Davis, and her son, David Buhmeier.
