Donald Ray Kearney, 76, of Holt, Fla., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 23, 2026. Donald was born in Goldsboro, N.C., on January 11, 1950. 

A lifelong hunter and fisherman, Donald loved the outdoors, especially his own property in Holt. He worked for Okaloosa County in the roads department for 34 years, having retired in 2008. In his retirement he enjoyed golfing, meeting friends for breakfast, helping family and friends with projects, and spending time with his grandchildren, the true joys of his life. 

He has been an Okaloosa County resident since 1974 and is survived by his beautiful wife of 54 years Debra Kearney, sons Travis Kearney (Christy) and Scott Kearney (Casey), and grandchildren Levi Kearney, Micah Kearney, Annabelle Kearney, and Colin Kearney, as well as brother Rodney Kearney (Betty), nephew Mike Kearney (Lauren), niece Melanie Smith (Gary), and two great nephews along with his wife’s extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents George Edgar and Pauline Kearney.
