Earnest Ray Mullen Obituary

Earnest Ray Mullen - Earnie to friends and family - passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 68. Born October 3, 1957, in Pensacola, Florida, Earnie is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey B. Mullen, Sr. and Mary Lou Mullen, and his brother, Harvey B. Mullen, Jr.

Earnie proudly served in the U.S. Army for six years after graduating from Booker T. Washington High School. He went on to marry his beloved wife of 32 years, Debra Spence, on December 20, 1993.

Earnie's sense of humor will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football, and was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints. Earnie also loved to cook and share recipes with friends and loved ones. Likewise, he was always happy to share a great movie recommendation, especially for fans of horror. He was a lover of animals and had many pets throughout his life, including his dogs, Lois and Clarke, and his parrot, Baby.

Earnie is survived by his wife, Debra Spence; his son, Bryant Mullen; his sisters, JoAnn Culbreth (Melton) and Rose Thornton (Scott); his nieces, Patty Pippin (Rob), Angela Wilson, Kimberly Rabenstein, Erica Thornton (Johnathan), and his nephew, Joel Rabenstein; and many great nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved, and he will be greatly missed.
