Ellie Knauf Obituary

Ellie Sandra Fuller Knauf, 84, passed away on October 20, 2025, in Pensacola Florida.

Sandra was born on October 2, 1941, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, the seventh child of Raymond and Alma Fuller. She lived with her family in Dadeville, Alabama, until she was 13. At the death of her mother in 1955, she went to live with her oldest brother in Columbus, Georgia. They later moved to South Carolina where Sandra graduated from General William Moultrie High School in 1960.

While living in Columbus, Sandra met the love of her life, Walter Charles Knauf Jr. They married in 1960 and were married 58 years. They had two children. Sandra worked for the Knauf family business, Walt’s Furniture, as a bookkeeper for several years. In 1973 her family moved, the first of several moves, with Rhodes Furniture. While with Rhodes, she lived in Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi and eventually Florida, where Sandra and Walter enjoyed retirement and time with their three grandchildren.

Through the years, some of Sandra’s fondest memories are of time spent with the close friends she made wherever she lived. She also loved spending time with her family. The annual Fuller Family Reunion, which she never missed in over 50 years, was what she looked forward to and enjoyed the most.

Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Charles, and her parents, Raymond Styles Fuller and Alma Elaine (Langley) Fuller, as well as six siblings-Fayne Fuller, Betty (Fuller) Weaver, Maurice Fuller, Joy (Fuller) Hall, Robert “Bobby” Fuller and Daniel “Dan” Fuller.

She is survived by her two children-Sandra Lorraine Knauf Pearce (Alan) and Walter Charles “Chip” Knauf III, and three grandchildren-Ellie Pearce Anderson (Asher), Alaina Pearce (Alex Fleming), and Willem “Will” Knauf. She is also survived by three siblings-Willie “Billy” Fuller, Joan (Fuller) Lehto and Charles Fuller, as well as her “other sisters”, Barbara “Bobbie” Knauf Lovell and Loretta Daly (Bobby) Fuller, and many nieces and nephews (and great nieces and nephews).

A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held on March 14, 2026, 2pm EST, at the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to bring a fond memory of Sandra to share.
