Kevin Michael Oury, 45, of Inlet Beach, Florida, passed away on January 28, 2026. Kevin was born on February 18, 1980, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Charles Michael “Mike” and Sarah Dianne (Welsh) Oury. He spent his early years in Little Rock and Petal, Mississippi, where he graduated from Petal High School in 1998.

Kevin was active in Petal High School’s highly decorated show choir program, where he formed lifelong friendships. He attended Mississippi Delta Community College and later the University of Mississippi before beginning a career in the restaurant industry.

In 2007, Kevin moved to Chicago, where he spent the next 16 years working in some of the finest dining establishments in the country. Professionally, Kevin was a world-class server who later moved into restaurant management. His extensive experience also gave him culinary skills that were hard to beat.

In 2023, Kevin relocated to Florida to be closer to family. Within a few months, he found another restaurant home where he could share his talents. Kevin’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the team at Ambrosia, not only for their friendship with Kevin, but for the love and support they have shown during this very difficult time.

Heartfelt gratitude is extended to Kayla for the hours of gentle, loving care she provided Kevin, and for helping the family understand the many complexities of medical information along the way. Special thanks as well to Uncle Calvin and Aunts Jeanne and Debbie for the time spent together during these moments.

Kevin was a thoughtful and deliberate friend, known for his sharp wit, love of pop culture, and unique way of making each person feel special. He will be greatly missed by countless friends and family members.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his grandmother, Mary Lou Welsh of Petal; his stepmother, Donna Oury of Benton, Arkansas; his brothers, Jason (Allyson) Oury of Florala, Alabama, and Justin Oury (Kayla Puckett) of Petal; his beloved nephews, Taylor, Nicholas, Paxton, and Mason Oury; and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins in Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
