Margaret Jean Prestwood Vaughn passed away peacefully in Pensacola, FL, March 16, 2026. Margaret Jean, 84, born in Troy, AL, was the beloved daughter of James and Margaret Prestwood of Andalusia, and sister to Lucy Elaine Schleisser (John) and Morgan Prestwood.
Margaret met Dick Vaughn (1939-2011) of Birmingham, at the University of Alabama. They are survived by their children James Vaughn (Selena), Daphne, AL, and Laura Pierson, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, grandchildren Drew Pierson, James Pierson, and Shelby Pierson, and great-grandson, Izaiah.
Margaret was devoted to family and a model of selflessness. Her wise words and quick wit shall be missed.
