Marguerite Bell Jensen Haskell, lovingly known as Queenie, passed away surrounded by love on January 8, 2026. She was born in 1944 in Pensacola, Florida, where she also grew up and built lifelong roots and friendships.

Marguerite was preceded in death by the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Haskell; her beloved son, Michael McVay; her mother, Florence Bayer; her father, Oscar John Jensen; her sister, Rose Marie Malone; and her brother, Johnny Jensen.

She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Laurie McVay Jones; her brother, Chris Jensen; and many cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. To them, she was more than an aunt — she was their Queenie and grandmother figure, a role she wore with pride, grace, and unwavering love.

Marguerite’s life was defined by her deep devotion to family, her strength through loss, and her generous heart. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, protected, and loved. Her presence was a constant source of comfort, laughter, and guidance, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery - Shelter A on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00AM. Procession to the cemetery will meet at Olive Baptist Church - Warrington Campus, 103 W. Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola, Florida 32507 at 9:30AM. Reception to follow at 11:00AM at the Grand Lagoon Yacht Club.
