It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ann, who departed this life on March 22, 2026 in Pensacola FL. Born in Boston on January 22, 1932. Ann, as she preferred, spent many years raising a family with 5 kids in Halifax, Massachusetts.
She had quite an independent, adventurous spirit, with a dash of wanderlust. Early on in her career, she worked for the prestigious Ford Modeling agency as a professional model in NYC. Later she worked as a librarian at Silver Lake High school. She loved restoring antiques including the old colonial home in the center of Halifax. She loved dogs, horses and digging in old dumps looking for antique glass. Later, she did rather well flipping houses in Cape Cod, Newport RI and Florida.
She enjoyed traveling, sailing, listening to jazz, camping and producing various art. She sailed from New England to Florida and the Caribbean; crossed the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. She even survived riding out a hurricane in a sailboat! She even owned her own sailboat with Marlene; notorious for enjoying afternoon cocktails! Good times!
Ann is survived by her children: Stuart Lyons (Marsha), Laura Lyons, Jeanne Blute, and Marlene Whealton, who will forever hold onto the memories and lessons shared. Her daughter Lisa Lyons preceded Ann in 1975. This is surely a joyful reunion along with her sister Gretchen, brother Carl, and late husband Robert Allaire.
She has 9 grandchildren: Jacqueline Lyons Dugan (Jay), Lisa Williams, Lyndsey Ward (Aaron), Robin Howard, Michael Lyons-Smith, Allison Lyons, Steven Lyons, Delaney Blute and Chandler Blute.
She has 13 great grandchildren: Dylan Williams, Tyler Williams, Matthew Williams, Braden Williams, Madison Williams, Kaydence Howard, Grace Howard, Julian Dugan, Jax Dugan, Jetsen Dugan, Jemma Dugan, Brody Ward and Jaxton Ward.
AND one great, great granddaughter Eleanor Jane Williams.
Ann's legacy: She had a fierce independence and sense of adventure which is inspirational. Her artistic endeavors span several generations who are influenced to carry on the tradition of expression through art as well as travel.
Her remains will be placed with her daughter Lisa at Halifax Cemetery. A celebration of her life is being planned for a future date.
