Richard Elmer Wilbert Trampe passed February 18, 2026, at home in Pensacola, FL. He was born June 17, 1943 to Richard Henry Trampe and Willamina Trampe (nee Kahre) in Ferguson, MO. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, Black Jack, MO.
Rich graduated from Ferguson HS in 1961 and from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, in 1965 with a degree in Chemistry. He returned to St. Louis where he worked at Sigma Chemical Co. until drafted April Fool’s Day 1969, into the Army. He was sent to Edgewood Arsenal at Edgewood, MD where he was in the Chemical Corps through March 1971.
He returned to St. Louis and Sigma then changed jobs to KV Pharmaceutical. He changed employment to Roxanne Labs in Columbus, OH until leaving to work at Chartwell Pharmaceutical. A Position at Fleming Pharmaceutical in Fenton, MO (St. Louis Cnty) returned he and his wife, Pam, to home territory where they remained until an opportunity to move to Pensacola and work at Pegasus Labs until retirement.
Rich is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pamela (Pam) Gene Trampe, nee Kaimann, two children, Rachael E. Fruehwirth (Late John), and Paul R. Trampe. Two Grandchildren, Kallie Zykan (Austin) and great grandchildren, Jace and Riley Zykan; Grandson, Aiden (AJ) Fruehwirth A1FC, US Air Force.
Rich and his son-in-law, John, passed the same day. God wanted them and because of their faith will be together with those loved ones who passed before.
Upon moving to Pensacola, Rich and Pam joined Grace Lutheran Church where he honed his love of Bible study and gift of being a good servant by becoming a church Elder and Stephen Minister. Rich and Pam joined Trinity Lutheran Church where he continued his love of Bible study and had lately become Head Elder, a position he eagerly looked forward to pursuing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM. 2026 Highway 297A, Cantonment 32533
