Robert Edward Lawrence

Robert Edward Lawrence (Bob), born February 25, 1936, from Duanesburg, New York, passed away on January 3, 2026.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John Stuart Lawrence and Edna Lawrence; his stepmother, Ann Lawrence; his brothers, John and Tom Lawrence; and his son-in-law, Pieter “Stoney” Steenkamp.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Macpherson Lawrence; his daughters, Heather (Jeff) Petresky and Kimberly Steenkamp; and his son, Robert Lawrence Jr. (Samantha). Bob was a proud grandfather to Kyle, Kristen, Adam, Megan, and Jordan, a cherished great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.

Bob honorably served his country in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy. After retiring from the military, he moved to Pensacola, Florida, in 1975, where he continued his public service with an additional 20 years in Civil Service.

Bob’s favorite pastimes were dancing and golfing, which brought him great joy throughout his life.

No service has been planned at this time. A private memorial service will be held with family at a later date
