Roderick R. Bishop, 67, passed away on November 24, 2025, in Pensacola, FL, due to complications following surgery. Born on October 8, 1958, in Lincoln, Maine, to Amos and Marion Bishop. Roderick spent his childhood in Connecticut and raised a family in Manchester and Colchester, CT but spent the last 8 years of his life in Pensacola, FL to be closer to his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
Roderick was a talented craftsman and the proud owner of Bishop Stoneworks, where he specialized in building Rumford fireplaces. He also worked in restoring fireplaces and chimneys in many historical buildings and did timber framing —work he truly loved. Known as a man who could fix anything, he poured his skill and passion into every project. He also had a deep love for music, especially the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Roderick shared 46 wonderful years of marriage with his high-school sweetheart, Robin, with whom he built a loving family. He is survived by his wife, Robin Bishop; his son Todd Bishop and wife Violet; his son Jason Bishop; and his daughter Jessica Buckles and husband Gregg.
To his many grandchildren, he was not just a grandfather—he was their silly and fun Papa, always ready with a joke, a smile, or an adventure. His playful spirit and big heart will be cherished and remembered forever. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
