Rodney Wayne Sweet, 9/14/1957-12/31/2025, passed away in his home following a prolonged illness.

Rodney leaves behind his two daughters Wendy Jastrzab and Kayla Smith, his parents Geneva Helen and Robert Oscar Willover; his sisters Mary Marsh, Pearl Rickey, and Rose (Michael) Marsh, seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Rodney was predeceased by two brother-in-laws: Curtiss Rickey and Gordon “Bobby” Marsh. Rodney had several cherished friends whom he loved with his whole heart. Rodney was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life, Alethea May Sweet.

Rodney worked over twenty years for his brother-in-law at Gunniss/Marsh Air Conditioning and Heating. Rodney loved anything involving nature: hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, or just sitting on the riverbed(s) watching the water. Due to his love for children, he often took his nieces and nephews to the park and would sit outdoors and watch them play. Rodney was a man who loved with his whole heart, was loyal, and in return, was deeply loved. Rodney will be forever remembered.

The family invites friends and family to a celebration of life to be celebrated April 11, 2025, from 1pm-3pm at the Ischua Bingo Hall, 5634 Main St. Ischua, NY.
