Susan Elizabeth Barberi, born March 15, 1963, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully—surrounded by love—and stepped into the arms of her Savior on December 2, 2025.
Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Barberi; her parents, Frederick and Helen Humphreys; and her sister-in-law, Lisa Barberi. She is survived by her daughters, Tess and Holly; Her son in-law James Moorer father of her grandchildren, Corey Stokes; and her grandchildren—Christian, Ava, Aundrea, Cameryn, Niyla, Elliana, Ariana, and Jamari. She is also survived by her siblings, Rick and Pam Humphreys, Judy English, and Tim Humphreys; as well as her in-laws, Tony and Kathy Barberi; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and joy that touched everyone blessed to know her. To know her was to love her.
Susan was a shining light. Her smile could brighten any room, and her warmth made everyone feel instantly at home. Her kindness wasn’t just a trait—it was the very essence of who she was. She had a way of making others feel seen, heard, and loved without even trying. Whether through a gentle word, a listening ear, a shared meal, a day at the beach or by the pool, or a simple hug, she made the world better every single day.
A devoted wife, Susan now rejoins her beloved husband, Mike, in eternal peace. Their love was steadfast—filled with laughter, faith, and an unbreakable bond that continues beyond this life.
A true beach lover, Susan found peace in the rhythm of the waves and joy in the sun-soaked sands of Pensacola Beach. But nothing brought her greater happiness than her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Tess and Holly, and a loving bonus mom to Angela and Logan. She adored her grandchildren—Christian, Ava, Aundrea, Cameryn, Niyla, Elliana, Ariana, Jamari—and her bonus grandson, Micha, as well as the many others who called her Mom and Grandma. Among those she cherished was her niece Erin, who was far more than a niece; she was like a daughter. Each of them brought Susan immense pride and endless joy.
Susan loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, her family, and her closest friends. She always had open arms for any child who needed a safe, loving place while growing up alongside her own, welcoming others as if they were her own. Whether she was relaxing at the beach, having family cookouts, cheering on Alabama football, or listening to a band play like she did in the good old days, Susan found joy in every moment shared with the people she loved. And how she loved to dance—whether in celebration, in the kitchen, or just for fun—Susan lived with joy in her heart and rhythm in her soul, always with that one finger in the air. Her laughter, her kindness, and the memories she created will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Her love for Jesus showed in the way she loved others. She lived with grace, forgiveness, and compassion, always pointing others toward love and light.
Though we grieve her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in Heaven, reunited with her husband, and held in the arms of her Lord. Her spirit will live on in every crashing wave, every spontaneous dance, and every moment of kindness.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held in January (date to be announced), and all who knew and loved her are welcome to come share in the joy of remembering her beautiful soul. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
