Tamara F. Barron

Tamara “Tammy” French Barron, 66, of Destin, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Tammy was born on December 1, 1958, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was known for her deep compassion for others and for animals, always willing to help even when it was beyond her own means. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her love for all creatures, and her passion for all things purple.

She spent more than 20 years working as a Registered Nurse in both Alabama and Florida. To know Tammy was to love her. She formed meaningful connections with friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of calling her a loved one.

Tammy was reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Lauren Barron; her father, George Franklin French of Texas; her mother, Colleen Miller French of Paxton, Florida; and many other cherished family members. Tammy’s father, George F. French, was instrumental in helping establish the Volunteer Fire Department in Destin, Florida, as well as the Destin Water Users. He spent many years serving his community and retired as a Deputy with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

She is survived by her brother, Michael Cass French of Fort Walton Beach, Florida along with lifelong friends and extended family.

Those who knew Tammy know she lived her life for others, often giving the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She was also the devoted caregiver to her disabled brother.
