Tommy Ray Turpin, 78, of Miramar Beach, FL has left us for that tiki bar in the sky. Passed away April 25, 2026.
Tommy, born and raised in Atlanta, GA on December 22, 1947, to John Billy Turpin and Lena Helen Turpin. Tommy was married to Janette Holmes Turpin March 2002. He was an Army Vietnam veteran, 1968-1974, as a combat cameraman. After returning from the Vietnam War, he started his own uniform business with partners Jerry Turkett (Super) and Kevin McDonough (Taco) in the 1990s in Atlanta. After retiring he moved to Miramar Beach to enjoy the sun, sand, and people, he would later be known as the “Mayor of Miramar Beach”.
Tommy is survived by his wife Jan, sister Toni and her husband Steve Porter, stepson Kacee and his wife Bianca Holmes, grandsons Aden and Logan Holmes.
Celebration of life with military send-off will take place on Sunday, May 3, at 1430 at Pompano Joe’s Miramar Beach, lower level.
