![]() Annie Ruth Steen, age 90, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at her home in Pensacola. She was born in Burnt Corn, Alabama and moved to Pensacola after graduating from high school. Annie was a licensed beautician for nearly fifty years and retired from the Escambia County School Board. She was a dedicated member of the Jehovah Witness Organization for forty years. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Claude M. Byrd and Florence Lett Byrd; her husband, Essex Steen, Sr. and a daughter, Threasa G. Hill. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley (James) Dean of Pensacola, FL, Cynthia E. French and Kirtrena (Michael) Deen; one son, Essex (Felicia) Steen, Jr. of Pensacola, FL; additional daughter –in-laws, Evelyn Crosswright and Janice Steen of Pensacola, FL; three sisters, Areneicie (Lawrence) McMillan, Sr. of Pensacola, FL, Juanita Aquart of Moss Point, MS and Berneice Dean of Pace, FL; two brothers, Claude H. Byrd, Sr. of Pascagoula, MS and Lloyd Byrd, Sr. of Moss Point, MS; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Saturday, January 13, 2018 with service at 11:00am at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 7253 Plantation Road, Pensacola, Florida with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following the service. |
