He remained in Pensacola for all his 54 years. He attended Woodham High School and Pensacola Junior College where he studied Auto Paint and Body. He married Kim Sheppard and had a son, Jacob, whom his world revolved around. He was a loving son and loyal and trusted friend to many and most importantly, a dedicated, loving and proud father. He was a kind and generous person that would do anything in his power to help others in need even at great sacrifice to himself. He loved cars and studied auto paint and body to repair and make them beautiful once again. He worked alongside many men as a supervisor performing location and drop services but was never afraid to get in and get his hands dirty with the people he supervised. He was an earnest listener when he was needed. He was always there to talk with you about the most intimate subjects and offer advice or just lend a shoulder to cry on. He was a man that you could count on. He touched many lives for the better during his time on earth. His loss is felt by many and there is a definitive hole in the hearts of those left behind. He loved talking about the times he spent with his grandma Morgan and remembering the kind and gracious person she was. He was also the care-giver, along with his son Jacob, for his mother, June, during her lengthy illness who he loved very much, remembering the sacrifices she endured for him. He leaves behind the love of his life, his son, Jacob, who he absolutely adored and a very special Aunt Connie, many aunts and uncles of the Morgan family. His family has chosen to have his body cremated and his remains will be held until arrangements and time are determined to honor him. OF VIOLET LEE FOX REMSKI June 10, 1921 to April 25, 2017 Violet Lee Fox Remski passed from this life into the Presence of the Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 after nearly 96 years on this earth. Violet is mother to two sons, Joe Remski, and, Paul Remski, three grandsons, Aaron, Isaac and Ben, and, two great grandsons, Keaton and James. Violet was born on June 10, 1921 to the late Henry Theodore and Nannie Lee Gilliam Fox in Crichton, Alabama. Violet had two brothers, and, four sisters all predeceasing her. Violet’s brothers were Carl Weaver and H.T. Fox, Jr.; and her sisters were Martha Fox Rowell (aka Sister), Clara Fox Wilder, Primrose Fox Conner, and Dorothy Fox Morrow DeRisi Palmer. Violet married the late Edmont Joseph Remski in the early 1950s and remained his wife until his homecoming in September, 1986. Violet was passionate about her singing, and, was active in her church choir. She often performed solos in church, and, later toward the end of her life, would often greet visitors at the nursing home with choruses. Mom loved to cook and her meals included traditional American dishes as well as Polish meals. Gołąbki [go’wumpki], also known as “stuffed cabbage”, or, “pigs in a blanket” were favorites in her family. Mom Remski loved to provide a beautiful and ornate place setting at the dinner table with silver and fine china at the holidays, and, on special occasions. Mrs. Remski was passionate about the local church and her children were invited and brought to church on a weekly basis. Scripture reading and personal devotion to God, and His Son Jesus Christ were encouraged by word and deed. Violet was imperfect like all human beings and those areas where she “missed the mark” have been thoroughly cleansed by the Blood of the Living Christ. Not only was Violet a student of scripture, but also a student of teaching. Mrs. Remski pursued a Bachelor’s degree in her 40s at Adelphi University on Long Island, and, subsequently taught as a short and long term substitute at local high schools in Suffolk County on Long Island. Violet will be cremated within the next week. For those of you who may have some reservations regarding cremation particularly in the case of a Christian, I want to refer you to the article written by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association staff: "When a Christian dies is it all right cremate the body?" https://billygraham.org/answer/when-a-christian-dies-is-it-all-right-to-cremate-the-body/comment-page-6/ From this resource, and several others I have reviewed there is absolutely no scriptural stand for or against cremation. Ultimately, over time, our bodies all return to the dust from whence we came and Mom, you and I will be no different. We have decided to have a "Memorial Gathering" and meal in remembrance of Ms. Violet on SATURDAY, MAY 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM at our home at 1041 Wonderwood Court in Pensacola, Florida. If you are unable to attend we completely understand. Many of us are reaching the ends of our physical selves and I am no exception. For those of you that are able to attend please come with any testimonials, short stories, or remembrances of Violet for voluntary sharing in the gathering. We will be providing the food and beverage for the gathering. Violet's funeral arrangements are being handled by Family-Funeral and Cremation on Plantation Road, Pensacola, Florida 32504. Please go to http://www.family-funeral.com/ and follow the obituary link. In lieu of flowers, any donations should be made to your local church or your favorite charity.
