Elizabeth Williams Brewer

​Elizabeth “Betty” Williams Brewer, 76, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2018 at West Florida Covenant Hospice in Pensacola, Florida.
 She was born on December 4, 1941 in Cuthbert, Georgia to Matthew Edge Williams Sr. and Elizabeth Stevens Williams of Dawson, Georgia. She was a 1959 graduate of Terrell County High School and went on to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri where she graduated in 1961 with an Associate of Arts Degree.  Betty continued her education at the University of Georgia where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and she graduated in 1963 with a Bachelors of Arts in Speech Pathology. While Betty was a student at University of Georgia, she met her husband, Conrad Wheless Brewer, Sr., and they married on March 19, 1964 in Dawson, Georgia. Betty was always an advocate for education and worked as a Speech Pathologist for Gainesville Georgia Schools. Betty was a devoted wife and mother and she selflessly dedicated her life to those she loved so dearly. She was a “firecracker,” and she loved to dance, she loved to spend time with her family, she was a doting grandmother and loved to spend time in the great outdoors with her husband.
 Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest brother, Ed Stevens Williams, Sr. of Dawson, Ga.; her eldest daughter, Susan Brewer Bruce and her grandson, Matthew Ray Brewer.
 She is survived by her husband Conrad W. Brewer, Sr. of Pensacola, Fl.; her eldest twin sons, Conrad W. Brewer, Jr. of Bogota, New Jersey and Ray Cline Brewer II of L.A, California; her youngest daughter, Mary Elizabeth Brewer (Robert Glen) Maggard of Pensacola Beach, Fl.; her granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Maggard (Joel C.G.) Pegram of Asheville, N.C.; her grandsons, William Glen Maggard II, of Pensacola Beach, Fl., William H. Bruce and Henry D. Bruce of Chattanooga, Tn.; her granddaughter, Molly G. Brewer of Rome, Ga.; her sister Carol (James A.) Caldwell of Atlanta, Ga.; her brother, Matthew E. (Rosa) Williams, Jr. of Lawrenceville, Ga.; her sister in law, Charlene Williams, of Dawson, Ga. and several nieces and nephews along with a host of dear friends.
 A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Pensacola, Florida. Following the service, the family will host friends and family at the church in the fellowship hall.
 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 3200 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, Fl. 32503

 ​Glenn Leland Ryder, Jr. departed this life on June 29, 2018, in Pensacola, FL, at the age of 86. He was born on May 28, 1932, to Glenn Leland Ryder, Sr. and Marian Doris Wilsey Ryder, in Cooperstown, NY. The family lived in Worcester, NY, until Glenn was 12 years old and then they all moved to Scotia, NY.
 
Glenn joined the Air Force, following high school graduation, when he was 18. He was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base, in Denver, CO, where he met and married, the love of his life, Joan Taylor; Nov. 21, 1952. He was stationed in Rapid City, SD and Limestone, ME.  He served 4 years, in the Air Force, working as a camera repair specialist, primarily for the B-12 Bomber, during the Korean Conflict. Glenn received an honorable discharge; September 10, 1954.
 
Glenn and Joan moved back to Denver, CO where he worked for Sundstrand Corp and where the first 3, of their 4 children were born. The family moved to Seattle, WA and then to Minot, ND, where Glenn was employed with Boeing Aircraft for a year and a half. He then moved the family to St. Louis, MO, in 1962, where he was employed with McDonnell Aircraft, which later became McDonnell Douglas. He was employed with “MAC”, until his retirement in 1991.  The last of their 4 children was born in St. Louis. 
 
During Glenn’s employment with McDonnell Douglas, he worked on the F4, F15, F16, F18 and the Apollo Project. He was transferred to Sydney, Australia, in June, 1984, where he and Joan lived for 26 months. During their home leave, in 1985, they traveled around the world, from Sydney to Sydney. Following his retirement, Glenn and Joan did more traveling.
 
Glenn and Joan joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, on Dec. 1, 1956. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, September 15, 1959. They both worked in the St. Louis Temple, with Glenn being a Temple Sealer, for 12 years. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was very important to him, as was his family and he showed that in his day to day life.
 
They moved to Pensacola, FL in July, 2015, to enjoy the warmer weather. Glenn enjoyed visiting the Naval Aviation Museum and watching the Blue Angels fly.
  
He is survived by his wife, Joan Taylor Ryder, of 65 1/2 years; 4 children, Phillip Alan (Jeri) Ryder, James Glenn (Patricia) Ryder, of Pensacola, FL,  Judith Ann Ryder Porritt, of Pleasant Grove, UT and Sharon Joan (Gary) Ryder Spaulding, of Canon City, CO; 13 grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennette) Ryder, Jasmine (Eben) Thayer, Heather Cross, Stephanie (Joshua) Jarman, Stephanie Ryder, Nichole (Sherman) Dangerfield, Mike Cross, Daniel Spaulding, Jennifer (Nathaniel) Hardman, Nathan (Cheyenne) Spaulding, Jacob Porritt, Andrew and Oscar Ryder; 11 great-grandchildren, Daniel Cross, Karalyn Jarman, Rayleigh Saucier, Seraphina Ryder, Easten Thayer, Andrew Cross, Cooper Dangerfield, Benjamin Jarman, Adalynn Saucier, Madison Dangerfield and Kyler Hardman; brother, Leon Ryder; sister, Nancy Ryder Passal; brother-in-law, David (Marit) Taylor and nieces and nephews.
 
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Marian; father, Glenn; father-in-law, Russell Calvin Taylor; mother-in-law, Ruth Spears Taylor; sister, Carol Ryder; grandson, Joseph (Jo Jo) Leland Ryder; granddaughter, Elizabeth Nichole Spaulding; great-granddaughter, Aurora Heaven Ryder; son-in-law, Curtis Roy Porritt; sister-in-law, Raydene Ryder; brother-in-law, Ralph Calvin Taylor and niece, Nancy Ryder Harris. 
                                          
Glenn was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Father-in-law, Grandpa, Brother, Brother-in-law, Son, Son-in-law, Uncle & friend.  He knew no strangers.  He befriended others quite quickly.  He was a wonderful handyman and could fix anything. He had a sharp mind and a great sense of humor and loved to tell his “Dad Jokes”, as his children called them and his wife called them “groaners”.  He told his jokes, with his nostrils flaring, as he tried not to laugh but always ended up laughing.  He is loved immensely and greatly missed.
  
Services will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, July 6, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, 9490 Foxrun Road, Pensacola, Florida.  A Committal Service, with military honors, will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 1:30pm, at Barrancas National Cemetery.  The procession will meet at Olive Baptist Church/Warrington Campus at 12:45pm at 103 W. Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola, Florida.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Zeno Moore and Gladys McGraw Guilford; his son, Charles Carnley and Debbie Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn Moore; sons, Jerry (Nancy) Carnley, Donald (Laurel) Carnley, Carlos Wayne Moore and David Moore; daughters, Ann (Joe) Flynn and Mary Moore (Jerry) Ward; daughter-in-law, Betty Carnley (wife of Charles); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Gail Soles; brother, Robert Hall and many nieces, nephews and friends.

​Boyd Stephen Rheay, 77, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 from complications of bronchiectasis.
He was born August 30, 1940 to Odie Boyd and Julia Max Rheay.  He worked for the Navy in Civil Service at NAS Pensacola and Saufley Field before retiring in 1994.
His favorite activity was playing golf once a week with his long-time friends, Don, Dale and Fred but he had to give that up in 2016.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Faye; his sister and brother-in-law Judy Rheay and Charles Rush of Silver Point, Tennessee.
He was cremated and at his request, there will be no services. If desired, donations to Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church Music Fund, 75 Fairpoint Drive, Gulf Breeze, Florida 32561 or Emerald Coast Hospice, 5111 North 12th Avenue, Suite B, Pensacola, Florida 32504 will be greatly appreciated.

He enjoyed fishing, working on lawn mowers, loving his family and drinking sweet tea.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Willie Bee Taylor; sons, James Boots Taylor and Eugene Taylor and brothers and sisters.
 
He is survived by his grandchildren, Adam Taylor, Amber Taylor, Ashley Taylor, Alex Moody and Angie Moody, many great-grandchildren and his sister, Addie Lee Moore.
 
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with services following at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Ebenezer Church, 4200 Ebenezer Church Road, Jay, Florida with Brother Bobby Conley officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
