Stephen Wayne Scott, 74, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021. He was born on October 3, 1946 in Honey Grove, Texas to parents, Earl Scott and Glenna Skidmore Scott.
Stephen served honorably in the United States Army. He was a Communications Chief and was awarded several medals. Some of which were, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (7 Campaigns), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/palm, 3 o/s bars (overseas service), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Joint Services Commendation Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and 3 NCO (Noncommissioned officer) Professional Development Ribbons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudine Scott; parents, Earl and Glenna Scott; sister, Linda Morales and brother, David Scott. He is survived by his sister, Karen Bradshaw; step-children, Ray and Kathy Quesenberry; Rodney and Laurie Quesenberry and Lisa Burke; grandchildren, Casey and Brandon Dunford, Kristie and Stewart Kirksey, Michelle and Brandon Hill, Steven and Sheena Gabbard and Melissa and Jonathan Spell, Jackson Quesenberry, Logan Quesenberry, Maggie Quesenberry, Caleb Hill, Chelsea Hill and Seirra Hill and 15 great-grandchildren; nephew, Joshua Bradshaw; nieces, Jennifer Bradshaw and Robin Scott; great-nephew, Christian Bradshaw and great-nieces, Echo and Bella Bradshaw. ![]() Barbara F. Purcell, 66, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Barbara F. Purcell was from Anniston, Alabama and lived in Pensacola, Florida for the last 17 years. She attended and graduated from Anniston High School. Barbara was in customer service and fond memories were of her daughter’s wedding, graduation from college and her grand-daughter’s birth. She is preceded in death by her father, William T. Harwell; her mother, Juliette J. Harwell; two brothers, Roger T. and Michael Harwell, and close friend, Kathy Stedham. Barbara is survived by her son, Robert L. Purcell; daughter, Julie L. Sanders; grand-daughter, Temperance S. Pearson; fur-daughter, Bit-Bit Purcell; fur-grandson, Boo-Boo Sanders; fur-grand-daughter, Lola Sanders; feathered great-grand daughters, Newt M. Pearson, and Piper R. Pearson; best friend, Sharon Knight & family; and close friend, Faye Emmons & family. Barbara Purcell was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and avid animal lover. She may have even been Coca-Cola's most frequent buyer. She loved to laugh and play games like Monopoly. She could never resist a shopping trip, but her favorite place to go was Church. She was incredibly resilient, a trait that her daughter and granddaughter inherited. You could never stay mad at her, because she was just too adorable. ![]() Nana E. Kron (age 72), a longtime resident of Schaumburg, IL, passed away in Pensacola, FL on June 19, 2021 from complications related to lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Nicholas and Elizabeth (Hertelendi) Kron. She is survived by her brothers, Nicholas (Lynne) and Drew (Anita); nephews, Justin (Judy) and Brandon (Sofia); niece and goddaughter, Shauna (Tyler); and her beloved cat, Whimsical. Nana often spoke of her childhood memories with her cousins, especially the ones swimming along the shores of Lake Michigan, at North Avenue Beach in Chicago, and North Beach in South Haven, Michigan. She will be fondly remembered for her love of music, coffee, reading, travel, sunbathing, holiday decorating, cooking, letter writing, and her gift of gab. Interment of her ashes will happen at her parent’s graves at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. ![]() William Aaron Parker IV, 46, known to most as Willie, loving husband and father of two, went to be with his Savior very unexpectedly on Friday, June 18, 2021. William was born in Pensacola, Florida on November 6, 1974, to William and Victoria (Sanders) Parker. He graduated from Escambia High School in 1992. He was a hard worker and held jobs at A&P, Mansfield, and Solutia before starting at Gexpro Services where he worked the last 11 years of his life in the shipping department. William was a proud father to his sons, Matthew and Joshua, whom he loved dearly and faithfully spent time. On May 31, 2013, he married Jeanie Lundy, and was an attentive husband and willing helpmate for the past eight years. William, above all else, enjoyed spending time with his family. He carved time out of his week to visit numerous family members and would often call just to check on them to ensure their well-being. He was a compassionate, caring son, attending to any need he was able to meet for his mother before her passing only months before his own. He was known by all for generously giving of his time, and doing whatever he could for whoever asked. William enjoyed shopping--he was the king of finding bargains, and was fond of driving around, watching movies and football, learning history, and seeing new places. He was a Christ follower and often shared his faith with others. William was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Parker; his uncle, Donnie Sanders, and his cousin, Vickie Marie Burnham. He was an animal lover, especially with his four furbabies at home. He also loved tinkering with electronics and building his own guitar petals. He was even a bit artsy. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. ![]() E. ANN BURNS (78) passed away peacefully, with family by her side, Thursday, June 17, 2021. She was born March 02, 1943 to Lester E. “Mike” and Sophie Bowser in Springfield, Missouri. Ann married James “Jim” W. Burns and traveled the world as a military wife and raised a daughter, Joёll D. Burns and a son Jeffery L. Burns. Beyond raising her children she led a very creative and productive life working to help pay the bills. She sold real estate while in Alaska, started and ran her own business, a macramé shop After Jim retired from the USAF she managed several Tom Thumb Food Stores and trained new employees. After leaving Tom Thumb Food Stores she worked as a sales representative for the Hershey Company. She had a burning desire to be her own boss once again and left Hershey to go back to school to obtain her Florida State certification as a licensed massage therapist. She opened her own practice and notable amongst her patient’s was the comedian Bob Hope. It was during this time that she recognized the need for marketing materials for the massage therapy industry and she developed, started and ran her own mail order greeting card, business card, gift certificate and marketing material business named “Watercolors”. After she sold her business and retired she and Jim settled into their retirement at home in Navarre, FL. to enjoy “her life well lived”. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; a step-father, Warren Scott; her sister, Mary J. Bowsher and her husband, Roger Bowsher. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James W. Burns; her daughter, Joёll Diane; her son, Jeffery L. Burns and daughter-in-law, Mary L. Burns; granddaughters, Brittney A. Williams, Stephanie D. Courtney, Courtney J. Williams; grandsons, John W. Burns, David L. Burns as well as four great-grandsons; and our acquired daughter, H. Marie Means. Also surviving her are several nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, loved to cook new things that Ree Drummond the Pioneer Woman cooked and loved watching Tyler Perry movies. ![]() Joseph Christopher Carney, 43, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. He is survived by his mother, Joanne Carney; sons, Liam Carney, Lucius Bryant, and Linden Bryant; siblings, Jeane-Marie Johnson, Sean Carney, and Melanie Blust; girlfriend, Jessica Ray; as well as his cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Russell Carney; his grandparents, Marie Christoff Herring, James Herring, John Carney, and Peggy Carney; and his beloved cousin, Patrick Jon Denny. Those who knew him appreciated his kind heart, exquisite sense of humor, and work ethic, and his many friends saw him as a brother and protector. He was a big movie fan and he loved to cook, but his greatest pleasure was in spending time with his boys.
