![]() In Loving Memory of Phillip Martin Keane, August 8, 1939 - October 30, 2021. Phil passed away at home surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. Phil was 82 years old and lived a life full of love for his family, for his church, and for his Country. He served 30 years in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1988 from NAS Pensacola as a Master Chief Boatswain’s Mate. He went on to work for the Civil Service and retired in 1997. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War. Phillip had a strong love for his church, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. This is where he performed and completed several projects for the church. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, and served as Grand Knight for 6 years between two separate councils. Phil started the council at St. Johns and helped with several fund-raising events, his favorite being the Baby Bottle Fundraiser. He is preceded in death by his Father, John Martin Keane, his mother, Ruth Ada Keane, two brothers, Robert Leo Keane and John Edward Keane, and his son John William Keane. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Virginia Lee Keane, two sons, James Donald Keane and Jeffery Lee Keane, two daughter-in-law’s, Cheri Keane and Tina Keane, two brothers and one sister, Thomas William Keane Sr. (Carolyn Keane), Dennis James Keane (Kathleen Keane) and sister Rita Diane Morini (Albert Morini). Virginia and Phil’s home was always filled with love and laughter from seven Grandchildren, and six Great Grandchildren. Phillip will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he can finally fish again for that great bass in Heaven. Fair winds and following seas. Rest In Peace Phillip. Mr. Wells attended the University of Alabama. In 1954, Mr. Wells was one of the 5 founding members of the Krewe of Lafitte and had the privilege of being the first Jean Lafitte. Mr. Wells was President and owner of the family business, Wells Glass and Paint Company founded by his parents Mr. and Mrs. William H Wells. Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his father William H Wells his mother Helen E Wells, his sister Helen Anne Wells. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Harrison and his two Grandsons Daniel P Schweighofer (Rachel) and Andrew P HarrisonHanson (Jenny) and his only great grandchild Jade HarrisonHanson. Mr. Wells is also survived by close family friend Sherry McCrea and her immediate family. Mr. Wells will be inurned at St John's Cemetery next to his parents and sister. A celebration of life will be held at a later time due to the pandemic. The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for the care given to Mr. Wells and the family in his last days. She was born in Pensacola, FL on January 23, 1936, to Daniel Barton and Lucille Thompson. Mama spent her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family and loving her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Bobbie is survived by her son Michael Blanton (Debi), daughters Cheryl McMahon (Kenny) and Kathy Seibert (Dave), sisters Katherine Purvis and Hazel Nelson, four grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, Crystal, and Jeremy and four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ethan, Jeremiah and Autumn and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements, per mama’s wishes, will be a simple service with no visitation on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 10:00 at Family Funeral and Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32503. ![]() Carolyn “Ann” Brooks Brown, 73 of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away at her home on the morning of Monday, October 25, 2021, surrounded by her family. Ann was born in Atmore, Alabama on July 12, 1948, to the late Sidney Warren and Bama Parker Brooks. Ann later married the love of her life, Joe Ronnie Brown, Sr, on March 2, 1968. During their time together, Ann and Joe had two sons, Joe Ronnie Brown, Jr., and Mark Randall Brown. Ann and Joe remained married for 53 years until the Lord called her home. Ann was a strong and devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Ann’s priorities in life were her family, friends, and the Lord. Ann never missed any sporting or school events for her children, and she was always there to care for Joe. Ann also loved spending time with “the girls” any chance that she could. Ann was strong in her faith and her walk with the Lord. Ann regularly attended services at St Paul United Methodist Church in Gulf Breeze where she was a beloved member of the women’s bible study group. Ann was also loved and well respected by her co-workers at Gulf Breeze Elementary School where she worked for 30 years. Ann was a role model and mentor to the many children who attended the elementary school. On a routine basis Ann was approached by former students who just wanted to say hello and give her a hug. Ann will certainly be missed by all. Ann is preceded in death by two brothers James H. “Bully” Brooks and Franklin D. Brooks and two sisters Rosa Belle Whitehead and Allie Maxine McDonald Godwin. Ann is survived by her husband, Joe Ronnie Brown, Sr, her two sons Joe Ronnie Brown, Jr, and Mark Randall Brown (Lianne), her grandson Jacob Connor Brown and her brother Sidney Warren Brooks, Jr (Jerry). ![]() Marcella D. Szymanski PhD 07/30/1929 – 10/25/2021 On October 25th we lost a beautiful soul and an incredible Mom. We will miss her every single day. She was our support, our rock and steadfast friend. She never met a stranger and never had a harsh word. If you met her you loved her immediately. She loved life. She loved to read, loved her political shows and MSNBC. She loved her iPad which she said kept her connected to the world. She loved to text family and friends daily. She loved playing Words With Friends online, and giving treats to beloved family dogs and cats. Her positive spirit, supportive words, deep love of Jesus, and ability to love everyone where they were, caused many to want to be near her and be with her. She listened daily to the Mass on her iPad. She loved good food especially desserts and great coffee! She was proceeded in death by her husband of 51 years Roy and her beloved daughter Michelle. She is survived by her daughters Ramona Connelly and Alice Bohannon (David) and grandchildren (who were the love of her life) Isabella Connelly and partner Matt Homer, Haley Bohannon (Theresa Yarbrough) and Jack Bohannon and his partner Charlie Tatum and great grandchildren Walt and Liza Yarbrough. In the end she used what strength she had to say “Remember no matter what you hear in your life, ever, ever, EVER……that God is love and love is love and it is good. We remember her joyful spirit and great gift of sharing love with all who knew her. We were blessed to have such a mother and friend. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon you face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. He was Previously from Piketon, Ohio. He lived in Gulf Breeze, Florida for 6 years. He attended West High School, West Texas McLennan Community College, Waco Texas. James was a Construction Project Manager across the country over 20 years and as a Project Manager at the Uranium Enrichment, Piketon Ohio. He Joined the Navy in 1959 at the age of 17 and served 6 years. James graduated from Texas A&M with BS degree in Building Construction as a Magnum Cum Laude honor student. He was active in numerous churches as he traveled throughout the country and served as a deacon of the Piketon Church of Christ of which he was an active member for over 20 years. James lovingly helped his daughter as a logistics organizer for Relay for Life events in Pike County Ohio. He was also a member of Gideon International and supporter of World Vision. James considered his family the priority, and his 6 children and their families his pride and joy; and as time passed this included his 5 wonderful grandsons. Betty Lou Johnson Gimlin was born on January 14, 1939 to Carl and Clytee Johnson in Hazelhurst, MS. She lived in Pace, Florida for most of her life. Betty was preceded in her death by her parents and her loving husband Walter Ross Gimlin, her son Sid (Lucky) Gimlin, her brother Carl Dean Johnson, and beloved sister-in-law Brenda Johnson. Betty is survived by her son Peter Vincent Gimlin and wife Peggy and Elaine Gimlin,wife of Lucky who were the loving care givers to Betty. Lucas Gimlin beloved grandson and wife Nichole, and the joy of her life her precious great granddaughter Zoey Gimlin. Brother Billy Joe Johnson, Brother Dusty Johnson and wife Sandra. Betty was especially known for always having a pot of coffee ready for her friend who knew they were loved and treasured and had a trusted friend who would listen and care. Bettys deep abiding faith sustained her through many hard trials and dark days. Her testimony to all of her love for Jesus and desire to be in heaven was a strong part of her life and faith.
