![]() Eustachio Anthony (Augie) Carlino entered a new phase in life on December 25, 2017. Augie, a first generation Italian American embodied the American Dream and did so the old-fashioned way. With just an 8th grade education and a "colorful" upbringing, he overcame odds to obtain and then maintain a still colorful yet comfortable life. In the span of 84 years, he managed to become a husband of 64 years to Jean F. Carlino, father of four, grandfather of seven, and great-grandfather of five. He was a well-respected and established petroleum truck driver who stayed loyal to Amoco for over 40 years accident-free on those West Pennsylvania hills. Augie was a dedicated man to his family, job, and the Steelers. To be honest, he could be stubborn, demanding, and hard. No one ever questioned what he was thinking or feeling about something. He was black and white with no gray in between, but he didn’t hold grudges. He had a gruff voice but a tender and loyal heart. He was also a funny prankster, a great cook, and quite the gardener. We miss your meatballs. We miss the way you flirted with mom/grandma (Jean really misses you). We miss your snoring on the recliner by 7:00 pm because you got up at 4:30 am to go to work. We miss not noticing the Whoopee cushion you slipped under us before we sat down. We miss eating tomatoes and smelling the roses from your garden. We miss hearing your laughter. Heaven is lucky to have you. Hope the angels like Whoopee cushions . . . . Eutha Lavonia Ives, 87, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017.
