Charles “Chuck” Albert Darden (1937-2017)
Charles “Chuck” Albert Darden, 80, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on June 20, 2017 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. Chuck was born on February 18, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Leona Mildred McKinzie and Steve Leslie Darden. He had five half-sisters and one half brother. Chuck served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from East Texas State University (which is now Texas A & M University) in August, 1964 and subsequently obtained his State of Texas Teaching Certificate and taught for one year in Houston, Texas. Chuck then moved to Miami, Florida, obtained his State of Florida Teaching Certificate and began teaching High School Shop Class. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen “Ellie” Spradlin (Darden) whom he met in 1970 in Miami and then married in July, 1971; his children, Carrie Moore, Charles Albert Darden, Jr. and his wife Rebecca, David Allen Darden and his wife Jennifer (Jenny), and Daniel Andrew Darden; his grandchildren, Wendy Moore Shea, Samantha Moore-Martinez, Hollie Moore Carlisle, Jessica Moore, Dallas Moore, Austin Moore, Brisa Darden, Cayden Darden, Logen Aldrich, Connor Darden, and Liam Darden; and several great-grandchildren, family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 5:00 p.m. in the lounge at the White Sands Bowling Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. |
