![]() Elizabeth Ellen York, 98, of Pensacola, Florida passed on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. She was born in Auburn, New York to John T. and Ethel Walker Kiely. “Betty” was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. After the first grandchild, she was affectionately known as “Bopie”. Bopie’s favorite family gathering was Christmas Eve. Her zest for life was admired by all and will be fondly remembered. At the age of 16, she moved to New York City to pursue work as a hairdresser. While in her eighties, she was cruising the seas. Her friendships were strong and many lifelong. The love and support for her family were immeasurable. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, David Alfred York. She is survived by her children, David York (Sue), Debbie Martin (Roger) and Douglas York (Janet). Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jason York, Benjamin Martin (Cheri), Julia Fowler (Andrew) and Gary York and two great-grandchildren, Sidney and Piper York. A private graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida. She will be greatly missed. |
