Michael Jerome Benbow was born August 22, 1957 to William Curtis and Irene Benbow in Pensacola, Florida and stepped out of this life into eternity on May 26, 2019.
Michael attended schools in the Escambia County School system, and graduated from Beggs Vocational and Educational Center in 1975. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army and served for a short time. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic on the Pensacola Naval Base for many years and after his retirement, he was a self-employed carpenter and an active fisherman.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age, joined and was baptized at St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Otha Leverette Sr. and he was a choir member and attended Sunday school.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Curtis Benbow and Irene Benbow; brother, Curtis William Benbow Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his children, Curtis and Lavelle Marshall, Osmond Golston and Michael Benbow Jr.; sisters, Irenita Assensoh of New Orleans, LA, Debra Morgan, Valerie Cope of Pensacola, FL, and Marie Modeste of Orlando, FL; nieces and nephews, Leonita Brooks, Rose and Akwasi Assensoh Jr., Helena Murphy, Frazier Wallace Jr., Jaleese and Janay Cope, Chad and Marissa Modeste; a companion Lisa Nickson Williams; grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 with visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 am and service at 11:00 am at Glory to God Pavilion Church, 4000 West Fairfield Drive, Pensacola, Florida 32505.
