Robert Jerome Wilhelm

10/6/2019

Picture
Robert J. Wilhelm went to his Heavenly Home on October 6, 2019 after a short battle of cancer with family at his side. His generous heart, deep concern for others and fervent faith and good works will be missed by family and so many friends.

Born October 3, 1940 in Fall Creek, Wisconsin to Ervin E. and Frances T (Welke) Wilhelm, “Bob” was a proud union member of the Pipefitters Local 597 out of Chicago, as he held a union card since he was 20 years old. Bob retired in 2003 as a Lead Quality Control Inspector at all the Nuclear Powerhouses throughout the Midwest. He was most proud to have worked a Government/Military job on Johnson Atoll Island in the far southwest Pacific Ocean.

Bob and his loving wife of 62 years, Jane B. (Boernke) Wilhelm, had a house built in Navarre, Florida after his retirement. He enjoyed lifting weights with his friends for years three days a week and would come home and work on his beautiful yard and landscaping which he took so much pride in. He loved nature and was an avid deer hunter since he was a boy, hunting here in Florida with his buddy, our minister, Pastor Ray Angerman, of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Shalimar, Florida. Bob also was a very gifted woodworker, as he had his own workshop and he gave away everything he made. Bob was known to unselfishly give his time to help others in need. He had a deep love for our Lord and Savior, his family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ervin Jr., Charles and James and his sister, Janice.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jane; sister, Blaine, Beloit, WI; sons, Daniel J. (Sandy) Wilhelm and James R. Wilhelm, Navarre, FL; daughter, Dawn C. (Larry) Fink, Coon Rapids, MN; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all who loved him dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 with visitation at 9:30 – 11:00 am and service at 11:00 am at St, James Lutheran Church in Fall Creek, WI.
