Roy C McIntyre II
April 25, 1955- June 20, 2017

Pensacola, FL-- Roy C McIntyre II, passed away Monday, June 20, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

He leaves his loving wife of 25 years, Joanne (Frank) McIntyre; his three beautiful children, Michael (Gloria Torres) McIntyre, Katrina (Matthew) Smith, and Karyn (Alex Short and children) McIntyre; his mother, Patricia (Sheldon) McIntyre; his sister Bonnie (Richard) Houtz; many close friends; and his faithful cocker spaniel, Buddy. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy McIntyre I.

Born in Mineola, New York, the son of Roy and Patricia McIntyre, Roy was raised in Oil City, then raised his own family in Beaver, Pennsylvania. Roy attended Penn State University. He never missed a Nittany Lions or Steelers game. While he was a very caring man, he did have his selfish moments when he filled up the DVR with NASCAR and college football. He and his wife recently retired to Pensacola where they have been enjoying the sunshine, beaches, tornado warnings, and watching the Blue Angels fly for the past 2 years.

Through his life, he always left his light on for family and friends to attend his back porch psychiatry sessions, but now he left them with unforgettable memories, stories, and his way with words that will last a lifetime. While he was never rich, he always had money for beer and bait. He left his children with his love for boating, fishing, literature, and sunsets. Roy was a true friend, a wonderful husband and father, and touched more people than he would ever realize.

At his request, no service will be held. His ashes will be scattered in the Allegheny River and the Gulf of Mexico at a later date.

Captain Roy finally found God in the Gulf of Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, please consider drinking a cold one or drowning a worm in his memory.
