Sylvia Esther Monroe

Sylvia Esther Monroe, 76, of Pensacola, Florida passed peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2019.

She was born in Pensacola, FL on May 14, 1943 to Johnnie Lee and Leon Johnson.  She was married to John P. Monroe, Jr. She graduated from school with a certificate and started working as a bookkeeper. She had her own business for 10+ years. She enjoyed working as a bookkeeper and liked numbers while the rest of us hate them! She was the best mom and grandma that anyone could have asked for and we are going to miss her so much! We will miss her smile, hugs and kisses…all the way to the end she told us that she loved us!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Lee and Leon Johnson; aunts, Gladys and Esther.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, John P. Monroe, Jr.; sisters, Shirley (Mark) and Sherry (Mark); daughter, Deborah Lynn (Chuck); grandchildren, Brandy (Brian), Jennifer (Dustan), Danny, Ben and Tyler; great grandchildren, Hannah (drew), Logan, Jonah, Grace, Gage, Alexis, Dabrianna and Brooke; great-great grandson, Zaylon.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 with visitation at 12:30 – 1:30 pm, service at 1:30 pm at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 7253 Plantation Road, Pensacola, Florida 32504. Interment will follow service at Whitmire Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Pat Brown from Hillcrest Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Brian Samuel, Andrew Kerns, Chris Massey, Timmy Monroe, Doug Monroe, Tommy Bradley and Chase Johnson.
