Toni Ellen Madrid, 52, of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019. She was born on July 6, 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia to parents, William Howard McCormick, Sr. and Lettrice Eloise Higgins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ed McCormick, Ricky McCormick and Michael McCormick and sister-in-law, Linda McCormick. She is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny Madrid; brothers, Bill, Pat and James McCormick; sisters, Patricia (Glenn) Gaines, Rudy (TJ) Paramore, Charlotte (Winston) Diaz-Matsas and Tammy (Michael) Weaver and many nieces and nephews. As a child, Toni loved being outside with her siblings, playing house with a town they created of big cardboard boxes and riding her bike to the store for penny candy. If you saw Toni, you would see her twin, Tammy, sometimes in the same outfit or with one of her other siblings. Summer trips almost always had Toni with cuts on her feet; she loved the earth under her bare feet. The holidays were always the best of times because the entire family was together. Her first time at the beach, when she was 17, she realized that would be her home one day. She loved the beautiful sunsets and the sound of the waves hitting the shore. She loved being with her husband, Johnny on the beach, watching the beautiful sunsets and making memories with all her family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Toni’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org). |
