Obituary of Lisa Ann Funk

Lisa Ann Funk of Destin, FL, passed away on March 13, 2024.  She was born January 2nd, 1959 in Kansas City, MO, to Betty Boone Franklin.

Lisa was the biggest Kansas City Chiefs fan known around town.  She was a worker bee at the American Legion Post 296.  She was always ready to help no matter the task.  She would help in the kitchen, at bingo, or selling 50/50 tickets.  She never said "no" to any request for help.  She wanted the best for our veterans and their families.

Lisa is survived by her son, Anthony Michael Boone Funk; granddaughter, Gracie; brothers, Richard Simmons and John Franklin; sisters, Jennifer Arrington and Julie Jowers, and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Funk; mom, Betty Boone; stepdad, William "Bill" Franklin; sisters, Charmae Hillman and Paula Seaton; and brother, Craig Simmons.

The family will have a private ceremony at a later date but the American Legion will be hosting a celebration of life for all that knew and loved her on April 13, 2024, from 1-3 at 311 Main Street in Destin.
